Palliative care:- compassionate, specialised support designed to comfort and improve the quality of life for people living with a terminal illness.

Bringing Comfort and Joy

Hospice care is a unique and deeply caring approach that supports people and their loved ones during the final stages of a serious, life limiting illness. The focus is on comfort, dignity, and quality of life, helping individuals live each day as fully and peacefully as possible, surrounded by compassion, love and support.

Powered by Generosity

To continue offering compassionate care and support, Edenvale Care Centre Hospice relies on generous funding. Your support would mean the world to us and make a real difference in the lives of those who need it most.

A Legacy of Care and Commitment

We first opened our doors on April 4th, 2002, after lovingly transforming an old house into a warm and welcoming space for those needing end of life care. The double garage became a cosy ward, while the rest of the home was turned into offices and a comfortable lounge area for family and friends.

A Breath of Fresh Air

We’re fortunate to have a beautiful garden that offers a peaceful retreat for our patients, their families, and our staff. It’s not just a lovely space to enjoy the outdoors, it also provides a calming, therapeutic environment that supports healing and well-being.

Testimonials

I am writing this letter to express my strong recommendation for your hospice centre to anyone seeking medical care. My brother was a patient and receiving treatment at your hospice centre. As her sister I was extremely impressed with the level of care and professionalism that he has experienced. From the moment he arrived at your hospice, he was greeted with warm and compassion by the staff. The doctor and nurses and support staff were all knowledgeable, and made him feel comfortable and confident in their care. I was also impressed with the facilities. Furthermore, the communication, coordination and medical team was seamless, which helped to ensure that he received the best possible care. Overall your commitment to excellence in patient care, combined with the staff, make your hospice centre a top choice for a medical treatment centre, Thank you for all that you do to provide exceptionao care to your patients

Ntombi Kamolane

My late brother, Themba Phillp Sibaya’s stay at hospice. We visited him once a week, every time we were there we would ask him about the hospice staff treatment, we never had complaints about the staff from him. The place was always clean and the food was good and nutritious. The hospice managed his excruciating pain because he was in a lot of pain. Unfortunately, he only stayed there for two weeks, I am sure if he stayed longer he was going to get a second chance at life.

On behalf of my family and I we want to thank you and your staff for the outstanding care you gave Brian, I would like to point out the following facts. When Brian was diagnosed I phoned around to every care centre you could think of to get him the care that he needed to no avail, eventually I got hold of Edenvale Care Centre Hospice and they took him in without any hesitation. The level of care that he received was truly unbelievable, the staff are so lovable and caring, they bath the patients early in the morning, they make their beds, always have clean bedding, they give them breakfast and their meds and then they take them out into the garden for fresh air. They give the patients 3 cooked meals per day, if the patient can’t help themselves they get fed, there are always trainee nurses around who make sure that every need the patient may need is taken care of. While my brother was in their care, I never once smelled any odours, I found their wards hygienic at all times. If the patient needs dressings, which Brian did, they did that every second day. They also have doctors that come and examine the patients once a week. They also do washing and ironing on the premises. All this care takes a huge amount of money, money that they don’t have, so please make sure that they are subsidised.
